Representatives from the Disaster Management and Business Continuity Committee of AmCham San Pedro Sula, Honduras visited with the DMA team in Washington, DC on September 14, 2009 to share information about their current projects. The committee is now looking into expanding community preparedness efforts with local authorities to benefit employees, their families, and communities.

>> The shelter project, Escuela Agricola del Valle is ready for the 2009 hurricane season. The shelter will service 18 communities in the distric of Choloma and will have the capacity to receive both residents and their domesticated animals. Read Article>>

In August 2008, the fundraising tournament generated $10,000 US to help cover the staff, logistic, and other related costs of managing the committee's 5 current initiatives with 10 corporate partners worth $314,585 to help 20,244 direct beneficiaries and 242,594 indirect beneficiaries in 21 communities.
