Haiti DMA Overview

The Disaster Management and Business Continuity Committee (AGERCA), was the first DMA affiliate country to integrate many private sector organizations to consolidate a comprehensive platform for public/private collaboration for disaster preparedness, mitigation, management, and response.  Haiti has, unfortunately, had ample opportunities to "learn by doing" and effectively mobilized over US$500,000 in response to hurricanes and floods in 2007 and 2008. AGERCA has become the Haitian Civil Protection's preferred private sector channel.
