Director’s Note

Season's Greetings to All!

2009 was certainly a lesson in accelerated adversity and overcoming challenges to continuity and resilience, globally and locally. Building alliances and working together is becoming more necessary every day. As our team here at PADF continues preparations for the 2010 Regional Integration Conference in Guatemala City this January 19-21, it my pleasure to announce that we will hear from Cervecería Centroamericana, Fundación Castillo Córdova, Rio Garment, Merck, Grupo El Angel, CONRED, CEPREDENAC, ODPEM, OFDA/USAID, BCLC, ANDI, and many others. We will learn, first hand, how they build alliances for disaster management and risk reduction.

On that note I also encourage everyone to take advantage of the free BDA Global webinar on January 12. Taking stock and protecting your critical operations, come what may, will put you ahead of your competition in 2010 and beyond.

Please be sure to visit www.PlanforDisasters.org to follow the conversations on our business continuity and the mutual aid committee blogs. This facility allows you to ask specialists about how they are handling issues of interest to you. Remember to check out our resources section for recent publications that can guide and support your efforts.

All the best!
